What are Stirrup Bumpers?

Back in 2017/18, I was searching for a better solution than stirrup bags to protect my daughter’s saddle from arena sand and mud. I wanted something quick and easy to use—something that didn’t just cover the stirrups, but offered real, practical protection.

That’s how Stirrup Bumpers were born.

Since then, I’ve refined the design to include a built-in back guard, covering the stirrup leather to prevent pressure marks and scrapes on your saddle.

They’re incredibly useful when lunging with the saddle on, helping prevent bumps and wear from swinging stirrups. And they’re not just for English saddles—they’re also great for Western saddles and fenders. Wrap them around your oxbow stirrup treads to avoid knocking your own legs while carrying your saddle—your shins will thank you!

I’m proud to be the original designer of Stirrup Bumpers. Over the years, I’ve poured countless hours into perfecting this product and have shipped them to happy riders around the world
